Belinda Smith

With a passion for human behaviour and learning, Belinda obtained her Bachelor of Psychology in 2009 and was awarded First Class Honours, a University Medal and the Australian Psychological Society (APS) Prize. Belinda is a Board Approved Supervisor for 4+2 and 5+1 Pathways. She is a full member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and is a committee member of the APS Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Interest Group. Belinda also provides clinical governance support to other health providers.
Having worked in psychology for 15 years, Belinda is passionate about working collaboratively with people to reach their full potential. She has great respect for people’s vulnerability and courage as they proactively work to identify and reach their goals. Belinda particularly enjoys working with neurodivergent humans, including those with Autism and ADHD, and AuDHDer's; women transitioning into perimenopause and menopause; and those who have experienced trauma, including secondary and vicarious trauma. Belinda practices evidence-based therapies with her preferred modality being Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She brings a wealth of experience working with clients over 18 years of age presenting with a range of psychological, physical and personal challenges. Belinda has extensive experience in workplace mental health, supporting workplaces to create a mentally healthy workplace for all team members, including those with mental ill-health, neurodivergence, and disability. Other areas of expertise include clinical governance, career counselling, suicide prevention, anxiety management, emotional regulation and self-care. As a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor, Belinda values supporting early career psychologists and other professionals to provide exceptional quality psychology services. As an innovator and leader in the Allied Health space, Belinda has developed and led successful multidisciplinary health teams to provide exceptional quality health services. She is passionate about clinical governance and creating an environment where health practitioner can thrive. Belinda enjoys painting, photography and hiking. She is currently training for numerous internal hikes, including helihiking in Antartica, the W Trek in Patagonia and Milford Sound in New Zealand. She brings joy and passion to her work and is standing in her arena having created Arena Health Solutions, a a neurodiversity affirming place where all humans are welcome and empowered to stand in their own arena. |
